Habe einen Schwung Singles gerade beim Ameise Presswerk abgeholt. Sehen gut aus und haben sogar noch einen fetteren Sound als zuvor, da Martin nochmal gemastert hat.

Hamburger haben Glück: die ersten Exemplare stehen schon im Selekta-Shop (Bartelsstrasse 11, Schanze) zum Reinhören und Erwerb bereit!!!! Dort kann man sich dann auch gleich die ebenfalls brandneu gepresste Ire Hi-Fi Single an Land ziehen: Errol Bellot - "Every Day"

Nun hat man die Qual der Wahl

Ranking Joe ist ja zurzeit in aller Ohren - er jettet durch die Weltgeschichte und voict auf jedem Kontinent neue Tracks. So zum Beispiel in Brasilien, zusammen mit DigitalDub, der dafür den wirklich gelungenen 30 Head Riddim produziert hat. Diese spontane Zusammenarbeit zwischen Artist und wechselnden Produzenten funktioniert dabei erstaunlich gut und heraus kommt ein Gesamtkunstwerk. Auf dem fetten Bass des gelungenen Riddims feuert Ranking Joe drei Minuten lang seine Message ab und weist Babylon in die Schranken. (Muzamba, 2008, MZB 702)

Und so was ähnliches schwebte mir vor, als ich auf einem Parkplatz in Wetzen die Irie-Ites Scheibe mit dem vielversprechenden Titel "War inna Corner" (ein Soundclash-Tune??) erwarb. Die erste Hörprobe ergab dann aber ein ganz anderes Bild.

Auf dem erstklassigen Stepper-Riddim von Dubmatix hätte Ranking Joe eigentlich jede Menge Platz zum voicen gehabt, aber mehr als ein paar Fragmente und Aoouuu´s gibts leider nicht zu hören - von wegen War inna Corner. Der MC tritt in den Hintergrund und sorgt nur ab und an für einen Farbspritzer. Das hätte man sogar ohne Ranking Joe´s Anwesenheit produzieren können.

Trotzdem ist die Scheibe gelungen - man darf halt keinen neuen Ranking Joe -Tune erwarten, aber eine Dubmatix-Produktion erster Güte. Das Label kommt von Irie-Ites und klanglich aufpoliert und gepresst wurde die Single bei den 7" Spezialisten der "Ameise" in Hamburg, wofür man schon beim ersten Hören dankbar ist - sauber gepresst und ein druckvoller, bassiger Sound.
