Los Babriks
Cuuuuumbia… Attention! With their single “Caballo” the Munich-based Cumbia ensemble Los Babriks opens the first chapter of their debut album, “El Vuelo Del Babrik”, which will be released on April 4, 2025 via One World Records. This track captures the energy and adventurous spirit of a wild ride – driving, pulsating and full of joy.
Led by mastermind Mauricio-Joran Ceseña and percussionist Héctor Tapia Castillo, the band succeeds in channeling the irresistible essence of the Cumbia and Chicha sounds of the 60s and 70s. “Caballo” blends dynamic percussion, deep basslines, warm organ tones and psychedelic guitars into a captivating sound that immediately draws listeners in.
The production of El Vuelo del Babrik reflects the passion and expertise poured into this debut. Recorded by Ceseña at QuingHu’s Studio, the tracks bear the signature of aDUBta, whose analog mixing on his Tascam 388 console gives the songs their distinct vintage character. The final polish came from Umberto Echo, whose mastering brought the album’s sound to perfection.
