“To The Rescue” – 7 Inch
(Lidj Shiloh/Ital Youth/King Shiloh Crew – 2025)

“To The Rescue” finally gets its 7″ release after years of circulating as a dubplate on King Shiloh sessions and festivals. The Steppers riddim by Mati Ital Youth is straight to the point: heavy, solid and cleanly mixed, driven by bass and forward motion. Mati – a long-time member of the Shiloh family – keeps things organic, avoiding unnecessary effects and focusing on a well-built foundation.
Zuri Nativa, born in Aruba and based in Europe for many years, comes in with lyrics that stand out for being clear and concrete. No empty phrases, no generic conscious talk. Lines like “earth is in a state of emergency” and “endless war based on thievery” feel grounded in real observation. Same with the media critique: “channel after channel it’s the same story.” It’s straightforward and believable, which gives the tune its weight.
Many listeners will already know it from sound system sessions; now it’s finally on vinyl. A solid Steppers cut with a message, steady production and a vocalist worth keeping an eye on. No hype needed – just a good tune that works both at home and on a stack.
